Performance in any discipline is not always about ability, experience or knowledge. Much of the time it is about how we focus, what we focus on and how we prioritise. When performance dips, it isn’t always about making major adjustments either. Sometimes it’s just a tiny incremental change that is required and, much of the time, that minor adjustment starts in the mind.
In hypnotherapy, the therapist collaboratively guides an individual into a relaxed state, allowing them to access their subconscious mind and make positive changes to their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This can lead to improved focus, reduced anxiety, increased confidence and, ultimately, setting their performance on an upward curve.
How can it Improve Performance?
- Reduces performance anxiety and stress using techniques like deep relaxation, suggestion
therapy and visualisation. It helps to calm nerves and build confidence.
- Improves focus and concentration by accessing the subconscious and bypassing the thinking brain. Hypnotherapy can help individuals improve their focus and concentration aiding to block out distractions and maintain both focus and clarity during challenging tasks.
- Boosts confidence and self-belief by replacing negative self-talk and limiting beliefs with
positive affirmations, fostering a sense of confidence and belief in ones abilities.
- Enhances visualization techniques allowing individuals to mentally rehearse successful
performance which can prime the brain for real-life execution. The old adage of ‘’if you can
see it, you can be it’’ really does come to the fore.
- Addresses mental blocks and negative beliefs by helping to identify and address
subconscious barriers that might be hindering performance.
- Improves sleep quality which can lead to better physical and mental recovery and
contributing to overall performance enhancement.
