T&C'S
Session Duration
These are typically 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed prior to you accepting the time slot. Please
note that I adhere to this strictly to give both you and other clients the absolute best levels of service
that I can.
Payment
I require payment in full at least 48 hours prior to the commencement of your session. This is
payable by bank transfer, details of which will be provided when arranging your session.
Cancellation/Rescheduling
I only accept cancellations with full refund if made in excess of 24 hours prior to the scheduled start
of your session.
Rescheduling of appointments in excess of 24 hours prior to the start of your sessions will be carried
over without further charge. I reserve the right to charge a discretionary surplus of 50% of the
original payment for the session should notification be given within that timeframe.
Cancellations or rescheduling of appointments made within the 24 hour timeframe due to
unforeseen and or unavoidable will either be refunded or carried over accordingly.
Please note that all cancellations/rescheduling must be done either by phone, text or WhatsApp.
Availability
I do my utmost to be available to my clients, and prospective clients, at all times. However, there will
naturally be periods when I cannot be due to being in session with a client or perhaps one of life’s
other commitments. In such cases please leave me either a voice message on my phone, a text or
WhatsApp and I will respond to you as soon as I can.
Any prospective or planned holidays will be communicated to all clients in good time so as to not
disrupt your therapy pattern.
Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential and comply with the regulations set out the Data Protection Act
guidelines, and outlined on https://ico.org.uk/. Please note however that as a Member of the
Association of Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, I am required to have regular supervision
sessions with a suitably qualified therapist during which I may need to discuss our work accordingly.
This is done as part of individual development to ensure that we, as an organisation, continue to
provide the absolute best in class level of services to our clients at all times. If this does happen, all
names and any other personal details are not disclosed hence maintaining the levels of
confidentiality required.
Data Storage
Physical notes are stored securely under lock and key and are accessible to me only. I have password
protection and encryption on all electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptop and tablet. When
communicating to clients via any of the aforementioned methods, your confidentiality is always
maintained effectively.
As per GDPR stipulations and my insurer, I am directed to keep all records of any work I do with
clients for a period of seven (7) years minimum.
You are most welcome to request a copy of your file from me at any time and even to delete your
information accordingly. However, this must be done formally in writing either by email or post for
record purposes.
Medical Liaison
Due to the nature of the services that I provide, there may be occasions where I might have to
contact your GP to obtain information that helps me to understand your situation a little better.
However, I will not do so without your consent and knowledge.
When agreement is made between us regarding the consensual sharing of information, it will only
ever be non-specific, such as name/address/birthdate and or a treatment plan outline.
The exception to this statement is if there is convincing evidence that you intend to harm yourself or
others. If such a rarity arises, I may be compelled to act accordingly and break confidentiality by
informing your doctor, or someone in authority, but again this would only take place with your prior
knowledge. Should this eventuality arise, and if you disagree with my impending action, if I genuinely
believe you or others to be in danger, I can override your decision and act accordingly.
Referral
On very rare occasions, it may be necessary for me to refer you on to another practitioner for some
form of a more specialised therapy. If this is the case, I will fully discuss all options available to you
for you to make an informed judgement call.
Disclaimer
Hypnotherapy does not replace conventional medicine, it compliments it. It may not be suitable for
all mental health issues and, furthermore, for every individual and thus success may be down to the
individual themselves. It requires absolute buy-in from the client.
Please note that the points made in this Terms and Conditions brief are designed to give full benefit
and transparency to anyone who is either (a) interested in how Hypnotherapy can impact and or
influence their lives, (b) looking to engage with me to effect positive change or (c) is already a client.
It emphasises the way in which I look to operate to uphold the integrity of the industry and ensures
that we, as a collective, get the very best out of the treatment plans devised for you.
Once again, my sincere thanks to you for taking the time to browse through my website and read
this short brief.
Your sincerely,
Carl
